Spring Necklace

Flying home in early May over the Kahochella Penninsula we were treated to a string of magical blue green ice.

New Year Dog Run

Three in Conversation

Rock and Lichen

A close-up shot of some of the beauty at our feet. What could be more elemental than granite and lichen.The colour is bumped up a bit for fun.

Wind shadows

Flying home after a day of looking for muskox we passed over McLeod Bay as the setting sun highlighted the shadows on the snow made from the wind. They are a different texture and colour and while I call them wind shadows they may have a more scientific name!

Spring Ptarmigan Tracks

I do love this time of year when the track of everything that has travelled on the snow is elevated. The pressure on the snow makes them stand out for a short period of time. These are spring ptarmigan tracks and in the corner you can see someones boot tracks.

Ice Art

This is a shot of spring ice as it is bumped and pushed around by wind and water. I just loved the colours and how abstract it looked when it was cropped.

Biking on the Ice

This is really the best time of the year to get out on the one bike we have here. Dave is using it today as he peddles on the candled ice.

Muskox and a Hawk

The first trip home after the Bush Hawk was fitted with floats. It wasn't until after I took the shot and looked at it on my computer that I saw the group of muskox hanging out on the hill!
